Special Forces Remote First Aid (San Antonio, Texas)
This week-end (1.5 days) course is $125 + approximately $3 for the Guadalupe State Park entrance fee and $25 for a 350 page full color Wilderness First Aid book and certification from the National Safety Council (NSC). Instruction is provided by U.S. Army Ranger veteran and paramedic instructor Geoff Smith.
Wilderness first aid courses provide people with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for those who are injured or become ill in remote locations. But apart from treating the patient there’s more; medical evacuation planning (MEDEVAC), patient transportation, and knowing what to do if you must leave the scene. In the SPECOPS SF Remote First Aid course students not only learn to treat the most common injuries in wilderness settings, but learn how to plan and organize for MEDEVAC as well as learn primitive treatment techniques not taught in standard programs.
